Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin met with the head of the Federal Customs Service Vladimir Bulavin on 11 August 2021.

The meeting discussed the results of the work of the Federal Customs Service in the first half of 2021. Special attention was paid to aspects related to the administration of revenues transferred by customs authorities to the federal budget of the Russian Federation.

Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin states that "The customs service as one of the main suppliers of state revenues plays a crucial role here. The efficiency of the customs service depends on the balance of the budget and much more. First of all, I mean the customs payments administered by the customs service."

The first half of 2021, the foreign trade turnover amounted to $ 340 billion, which is 27% more than in the same period last year. "The trend is that more machines, mechanisms, technological lines, plastic products have become more imported. All this shows that our economy is reviving. We believe that this year we will reach the level of 2019 in terms of foreign trade turnover," with the head of the Federal Customs Service Vladimir Bulavin.

The special attention during the meeting was paid to “Customs modernization” was completed 2020, as well as achievements in the field of digitalization and automation of customs procedures. As a result of the measures taken, the manageability of customs authorities has increased, uniformity in decision-making has been ensured, and customs and corruption risks have significantly decreased.

"Among the main projects for 2021, I would like to note the establishment of “Smart border” that is, a digital platform that would be used by all regulatory agencies, as well as the improvement of the risk management system, the construction of its own data processing center, and the implementation of a project to automate the receipt and analysis of images of inspection and inspection complexes. Customs will become even more modern and convenient," Vladimir Bulavin remarked.
